The first dog houses can be traced all the way back to the Egyptians, who molded clay to form a housing for their pets. It's not a stretch of the imagination to acknowledge that today's dog houses look a lot nicer than those huts of old. The contemporary dog house comes in several different styles.
Indoor Dog Houses
The indoor dog house is much more common now then they were in the past. The main reason for this is that dogs used to be kept outdoors much more often then they are now. The typical lap dog used to be a rarity. But another reason is now people are a lot more concious about their inner dwellings and have realized that dog indoor dog houses can actually help accentuate the look of a room rather than dminish it.
Also the styles can accentuate the particular style of a room. For instance if you have a mid century modern styled living room, getting a mid century styled dog house can greatly add to that look. Of if you're a teen into the goth look, adding a black indoor dog house can only help show off your style.
Outdoor Dog Houses
Outdoor dog houses have been around much longer than indoor dog houses, and they are much more common. Therefore they have an even greater amount of cool styles to choose from nowadays which didn't exist in the past. These can range from themed doghouses which borrow their design from an existing cartoon, household item, sport, or anything really, to luxury doghouses which are made of the finest quality and materials.
So if you are shopping around for dog houses, know that you have hundreds more options to choose from than yiou did even a few decades ago.
